Nicole àBeckett is the founder and President of Mercatura Global and brings 10 years of international business development experience to clients around the world.
Prior to founding Mercatura Global, Nicole was called into public service and served as the Senior Director of International Trade for the City of Los Angeles, appointed by former Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and reappointed by Mayor Eric Garcetti.
Additionally, Nicole led four high-level trade missions for Mayor Villaraigosa, to China, Korea, Japan, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Dubai. Through her work in Los Angeles Nicole has formed solid relationships with high-level dignitaries and business leaders around the world.
Prior to her public service, Nicole was based in Shanghai, China, in charge of Strategy & Development for myfab.com, a retail model disrupter and the world’s first internet platform connecting consumers directly to Chinese factories for designer goods at low prices.
Previously, Nicole was an associate with BV Capital (now e.ventures), a trans-Atlantic venture capital firm focused on early-stage venture funding for digital media and communications software companies.
Nicole received a BA from UCLA and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. She speaks, reads and writes Mandarin Chinese.
